Abstract

We reviewed 12 patients with internuclear opthalmoplegia (INO), of which 2 were bilateral. The etiologies were cerebrovascular disease, hemorrhage of cavernous hemangioma, and bacterial meningitis. Their main presenting symptom was diplopia and
many of
them showed ong tract and brainstem dysfunction signs other than INO. Brain MRI revealed periaqueductal lesions in the pontine tegmentum and most of the patients improved over 3 month period. in korea, cerebrovascular disease is the main cause of
INO
even in young patents and in those with bilateral INO.
